The launch of a new Modified Sports Curriculum in Pakistan marks a massive step forward for the teaching of high quality physical education in schools in Karachi.
Developed by non-government organisation, Jawaan Champions, with support from Youth Sport Trust International, the new curriculum will empower teachers to deliver quality inclusive physical education in every classroom and reach children in the most disadvantaged areas of Karachi.
Speaking at the launch in August, Youth Sport Trust International's Head of Operations said,
'The curriculum has been developed from extensive research and learning from the best international practice from around the world. It is supported with excellent training for generalist subject teachers, giving them the confidence to deliver physical education. Comprehensive lesson plans will ensure that the most able and least able children can progress.'
The new curriculum is making a difference to education in Karachi, resulting in happier and more energised children and improved attendance at school.
Please help Youth Sport Trust International to continue our work in Pakistan to improve the lives of young people through play and sport. For further information visit https://www.youthsporttrust.org/yst-international
