Children are the true reflection of a society’s values, the seed of our continuity, and the foundation of our future. The theme “Our Children, Future, Pride, and Responsibility” emphasizes the vital role that children play in nation-building and the shared responsibility of individuals, families, communities, and governments in nurturing them.

At the Mordecai Care Foundation of Nigeria (MOCAFON), we recognize that investing in children—especially the vulnerable and orphaned—is not merely a charitable act but a moral obligation and a long-term investment in the nation’s social and economic development.

 Our Children: Greatest Nation's Asset.

Every child is born with inherent potential waiting to be nurtured. They represent the creativity, innovation, and leadership that will define the future of our nation. However, many Nigerian children, particularly orphans and those from disadvantaged backgrounds, face numerous challenges—ranging from limited access to quality education to inadequate healthcare and emotional support. We at MOCAFON, through our programs and initiatives, continues to champion the rights and welfare of children by providing educational scholarships, mentorship, and psychosocial support. Our focus remains on empowering children to dream beyond their circumstances and equipping them with the skills and confidence to shape their destinies.

Our Future: Building Sustainable Hope

The future of any nation rests in the hands of her children. Therefore, building a future of peace, progress, and prosperity begins with creating an enabling environment for every child to thrive.

MOCAFON’s Out of School Streets Children Programme, launched in November 2024, is a strategic effort toward this goal. The initiative supports Vulnerable Orphans and out of School Streets children, ensuring that financial hardship does not rob them of the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to society. As we nurture these young minds, we are shaping the future of our communities, our economy, and our nation at large.

Our Pride: Celebrating the Success Stories

Our pride lies in the achievements and resilience of the children we serve. Over the past years, MOCAFON has witnessed remarkable progress among her beneficiaries. Three of them—Taiwo and Kehinde Giwa —have successfully entered secondary school, while David is in Senior Secondary School preparing for final year examination now, setting a positive example for others to follow.Their success stories stand as a testament to what can be achieved when society unites to give every child a fair chance. Indeed, they embody the pride of our collective investment in education, perseverance, and hope.

Our Responsibility: Collective Action for a Better Tomorrow

Our responsibility toward children goes beyond providing financial aid. It requires creating safe spaces, promoting moral values, supporting inclusive education, and ensuring every child has access to the opportunities they deserve. MOCAFON calls on government agencies, private organizations, faith-based groups, phillantropists and individuals to strengthen partnerships and collaborate on programs that promote child welfare, education, and empowerment. Together, we can ensure that no child is left behind.

The future of Nigeria lies in the quality of care, education, and attention we give to our children today. As we celebrate their resilience and potential, let us also renew our commitment to making their future brighter. Indeed, our children are our future, our pride, and most importantly, our shared responsibility. By working together, we can build a generation of leaders who will uphold integrity, innovation, and compassion in shaping a better world for all.

Dear Donors,

Firstly, we want to thank you for the journey so far, because without you we wouldn’t have been able to start. Every step is a step into securing the future of these children. We also want to thank our beneficiaries for their resilience in the face of adversity. The struggle to breathe and survive in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles and the courage to face the world, and the day is something that most of us cannot even fathom.

Our beneficiaries are orphans; out of school street children not by choice but by circumstance beyond their control. With no parents or guardian able to provide for them and guide them, education becomes an unattainable dream. Instead, they are faced with child labour, exploitation, abuse and the dangers that comes with living on the street, thus trapped in hopelessness.

Education is known to be a key to breaking the cycle of poverty, combat inequality and gives empowerment that allows us to reach our full potential, building confidence and giving back to society. That is why the UN stated that ‘education is not a privilege but a Human Right.

At Mordecai Care Foundation of Nigeria, we believe in INCLUSION and not EXCLUSION and we want to give every child under our care a chance to rise. Through scholarship, school incentives, provision of basic needs, and provision of learning materials, we are helping out of school street children and orphans return to school towards building a brighter future.

Our children, Zainab, Aminat, Ahmed, Tofunmi and David to mention a few are working hard day by day, step by step towards reaching for this future. They need your help to go beyond their present stage and MOCAFON needs your support. We can reach more children, provide more essential resources and restore hope in our children.
