In Mali, armed conflicts and climate crises have forced thousands of families to flee their villages. In Yorosso, many children of internally displaced persons (IDPs) are deprived of education due to the closure of schools in insecure areas and the lack of resources of parents in new refuge areas. This project aims to finance the schooling of these children by enrolling them in school, paying school fees, meals and providing them with appropriate educational support.
Internally displaced persons in the Yorosso area, numbering 4,000 people, live in precarious conditions, without access to education for their children in the new reception areas, according to data from the local social development service. The lack of financial means of parents, food insecurity and the absence of academic support prevent these children from continuing their education. Without intervention, these children risk falling into illiteracy, early work, social exclusion or violence.
With your support, we will sponsor the education of 50 IDP children by providing them with: Tuition fees for a full school year. School supplies (notebooks, pens, bags, outfits). Psycho-social support to help these children overcome their trauma. School meals to encourage regular school attendance.
Sustainable access to education for vulnerable children. Reduction of child labor and early marriages. Breaking the cycle of poverty by giving children the tools for a better future. Strengthening social cohesion by integrating IDPs into the local education system.
