It has been quite the month at the Challenging Heights Hovde House!
It began with the older boys forming a football team and all the children coming to Winneba for them to take on Winneba United Football Club's U17 team. It was a thrilling match, with all the children on the sidelines, drumming and cheering for their colleagues out on the pitch. Hopefully, this will be just the first of many matches to come in the future.
The next week was a big one, as nearly 30 children were reintegrated with their families over the course of two days. The Recovery and Reintegration Team assessed their progress and their families were traced and not at risk of retrafficking, so the boys, girls and family members were prepared to be reunited. Both days were full of ear-to-ear grins and hug enveloping hugs from parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and siblings.
While the team was out bring the children home, our Rescue Team returned from Lake Volta with 15 newly freed children. These three girls and 12 boys have been settling into life at the Challenging Heights Hovde House well, learning the expectations and routines and making new friends. These children will be the children that your donations will help over the coming months in their time at the shelter.
A reccuring, monthly donation is the best way to help us provide top-quality care for these survivors, and we thank you for your generosity to make that a reality.
