The student Sponsorship Program provides funds for deserving students who would otherwise not be able to afford to attend secondary school, college or trade school. Sponsorships give more than money, they give hope. Supporters can sponsor an individual child, or contribute to the Sponsorship Fund which provides vital support to students awaiting full-time sponsorships or in need of additional support to attend and succeed in school.
Many bright and eager students in the rural villages of Kenya have qualified to attend secondary school and college but are unable to do so because they and their families cannot afford the school fees. Without the necessary financial resources, these intelligent and hard-working students would languish in their villages, devoid of hope for a chance to escape the cycle of poverty that persists in rural Kenya.
Kenya Keys has sponsored students in rural Kenya since 2005, supporting hundreds of students each year. Our Kenyan Board of Directors reviews applications from qualifying students and grants sponsorships for the students with the greatest need and potential. With financial support, these students are ready to conquer every challenge that comes their way. Your financial assistance opens doors for these students to change the future - for them, their families, and their villages.
Completing a secondary education empowers students to go on to college, to secure higher income jobs, and to significantly raise educational expectations in their families and villages. Educating students in this region will also arm students against the lures of terrorist groups who prey on the poor and uneducated. Educating these students, especially girls, will significantly improve quality of life and general wellbeing for the students themselves and their future children.
