Joy of Community Foundation works directly with local leaders to improve child education and community infrastructure in Kazo District, Uganda. Your contributions get children impacted by poverty back into school, provide supplies, uniforms, healthcare, and meals, and make improvements to school infrastructure.
The community of Kazo District is struggle to sustain itself due to recurring droughts, lack of public infrastructure, and increasing economic pressures compounded by COVID-19 and inflation. One of the major concerns for this community is the ability to educate their children under these circumstances. Many children in the region of seriously impacted by poverty, orphaned by high rates of HIV/AIDS taking the lives of their parents, and are dealing with common ailments of the region like malaria.
Your contributions to Joy of Community Foundation help the people of Kazo District educate and empower their children. We partner directly with local leaders and schools to identify children who are not attending school because of inability to pay fees and provide those children with access to classrooms, supplies, uniforms, meals, and healthcare that support their education. Additional funds go towards infrastructure improvements to partner schools that help the broader community.
So far, donors have supported over 50 out of the almost 80 children we identified as in serious need. Teachers at our partner schools report that these children are flourishing in the classroom, their determination to succeed with this opportunity is apparent, and that the relationship fostered with Joy of Community Foundation has brought positive changes to the entire school community. We believe with this support the community of Kazo District will be able to find new economic opportunity.
