The Sponsor 1250 Girls’ Education in Rural Kenya project is supporting vulnerable girls in rural day schools by providing essential school uniforms and shoes Munami and Lung’anyoro secondary schools . Many students in rural communities face challenges attending school with dignity because their families cannot afford proper uniforms. Without these basic necessities, some girls feel embarrassed, lose confidence, and are at risk of missing school or dropping out.

Sometimes all it takes to build a student’s confidence is a proper school uniform. When girls wear a clean, well-fitting uniform, they feel equal to their classmates and more motivated to participate in school activities. A new school uniform is more than clothing it represents belonging, pride, and the opportunity to learn without shame.

In many rural day schools, a good pair of shoes is also a luxury. Some students walk long distances wearing plastic or worn-out shoes that do not last and often cause discomfort. However, the moment a student receives a strong, well-fitting pair of shoes, everything changes. They stand taller, smile brighter, and walk with pride.

Through this project, 50 new girls have received complete school uniforms and durable shoes. This support will improve school attendance, boost confidence, and create a more positive learning environment. By investing in these basic needs, the project helps girls stay in school and continue pursuing their education and future opportunities. We thank all our supporters to accept and stand with us in this noble cause, dressing our new learners with new school uniforms is our calling and also remember a good future for our girls stsrts with a new school uniform.

1. Project Overview

The Sponsor 1250 Girls’ Education in Rural Kenya project aims to enhance access to quality education for vulnerable girls in rural communities through school sponsorships, mentorship, and community engagement. The project focuses on reducing dropout rates caused by poverty, early marriages, and gender-based barriers to education.

2. Key Achievements to Date

- Increased Enrollment Support: 930 girls have received school fees, uniforms, and learning materials for the 2025 academic year.

-Enhanced Mentorship and Life Skills Training: 15 mentorship sessions conducted across 10 partner schools, reaching over 1,100 girls.

-Enhanced Community Sensitization: 8 community forums held to raise awareness on the importance of girls’ education, reaching approximately 2,500 parents and local leaders.

-Improved Health and Sanitation Support: Distributed 2,400 reusable sanitary pads and trained 500 girls on menstrual hygiene management.

3. Project Impact

-We recorded increased school attendance and retention rates among sponsored girls.

-We recorded improved academic performance and self-confidence of beneficiaries.

- Enhanced parental support and positive community attitudes toward girls’ education.

4. Project Challenges

-We experienced rising cost of school supplies due to inflation.

-There is limited resources to reach all identified girls in need.

-We recorded few occasional cases of absenteeism due to household responsibilities.

5. Project Next Steps (December 2025 – March 2026)

- Expand sponsorship to reach the remaining 320 girls.

-Strengthen mentorship programs by engaging female role models.

- Launch a digital literacy initiative for rural girls in partnership with local schools.

- Continue advocacy for community commitment to girls’ education.

6. Conclusion

The project continues to make a significant difference in empowering rural girls through education. With continued sponsor and partner support, we remain committed to achieving the goal of enrolling and supporting all 1,250 girls by mid-2026.

We believe that very child deserves an equal opportunity to education and no student should be left behind simply due to a lack of access to basic school necessities. With support from our donors, we are working to remove barriers to learning by providing full school uniforms to the students who need them most in local schools within our community.

We believe that every child is entitled to quality education that is affordable and accessible. Last week, we transitioned 200 students across 2 schools in our community by providing school uniforms, sanitary pads, toughees shoes and underwear to needy students. Our goal is to increase school enrolment and high school transition for about 1250 students this year. This program is helping parents to save the money that could have been used to buy school uniforms and use it to pay school fees. As a result, students are able to stay in school, focus on their studies and improve their academic performance.

“I love my school because of the good performance that keeps on improving each year and also the way the teachers conduct themselves. I love Physics, it’s my favorite subject. One good thing about uniforms is the way it attracts other students who dropped out of school to want to come back to school and learn, because they really admire how smartly the uniform looks on those of us who have them. I would like to be Engineer in the near future. The new uniforms I have will help me to avoid the issue of absenteeism. One challenge of lacking a proper uniform is being regarded as poor, something that is not good. Those are words from one of our project beneficiary in grade 9.

School uniform distribution initiative is a good one because of the following reasons,

1. It Increases students’ enrolment in participating schools.

2. It boosts students’ retentions by almost 100% in most participating school.

3. It boost good performance by students putting on new school uniforms, same students puts on good simile and build confidence in learners .

Thanks very much to all our donors who made this possible, the journey is still on, please let us move together in making sure that all students get new school uniforms and stay in school.
