Young People Taking Their First Steps into the Job

By Cepac Barueri | Organization

Over the past three months, the Acessa Trabalho project has continued transforming the lives of young people living in vulnerable situations. The project’s purpose is simple yet deeply impactful: to prepare adolescents and young adults aged 17 to 22 for their first formal job experience. During this period, the project organized volunteer-led activities, including workshops, mock interviews, and company visits. In each session, participants learned about resume writing, communication skills, professional behavior, and self-confidence — all essential tools for entering the job market. Each class begins with around 20 participants, and over the two-month training period, the number naturally decreases as participants achieve success — many secure their first formal job with the support and guidance of Cepac. Every job placement represents not only a personal milestone but also an important step toward reducing social, racial, and gender inequalities. This project has proven to be a powerful tool in reducing poverty and informal labor, while promoting autonomy, access to rights, and stronger family and community bonds. As young people see their effort turn into real opportunities, they gain confidence in their abilities and in the future they can build. More than just preparing youth for interviews, Acessa Trabalho helps them reclaim their dreams. Every young person who secures their first formal job reminds us that investing in education and social development means investing in a fairer, more equal future filled with opportunity.
