Join our journey in addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of 10,000 internally displaced people in Lebanon, particularly those affected by the ongoing war. This initiative will provide essential food, non-food items, and winterization supplies to 3,000 children and 2,663 families in shelters and enhance solidarity. The project's holistic approach will contribute to improving living conditions, reduce tensions between displaced and host communities, and foster long-term solidarity.
Lebanon is currently facing a severe humanitarian crisis due to the escalation of war, which has displaced over 211,000 people. Many families, including women and children, have been forced to leave their homes and are now residing in temporary shelters that are under-resourced and ill-equipped to handle the increasing demand. These shelters lack sufficient food, water, hygiene supplies, and winterization materials as the cold season approaches.
Adyan Foundation and its Forum response are to address these immediate humanitarian needs through the provision of food (hot meals and ready to eat food baskets depending on each shelter) and non-food items (including mattresses and cleaning products), while fostering a spirit of unity and support among communities. Adyan team and volunteers will be mobilized to support in answering these humanitarian needs.
The project contributes to Adyan's mission in achieving societies that are more inclusive and compassionate, where everyone has equal opportunities for integral human development. Community-led support to people, and partnerships at the grassroots and international level, will continue to grow as a vital field of Adyan's mission. We are committed, during these extremely challenging times, to support people in Lebanon and to strive together to preserve diversity, solidarity and human dignity.
