NEW PARTNERSHIPS ACROSS THE COUNTRY
We are honored to have entered into a partnership with the Menominee Tribe, supporting them in their journey towards energy independence. Tribal Chairman, Ron Corn, hosted IEI team members for a few days of immersion in beautiful Menominee culture at their 54th annual powow.

IEI IN THE NEWS
Congratulations to Founder and CEO of Indigenized Energy Initiative, Chéri Smith, who was selected as a 2022 Solve - MIT Indigenous Communities Fellow! Indigenized Energy Initiative was named an MIT Solver Team, which comes with a year of technical assistance from the MIT community, and other fabulous benefits.  IEI was also awarded The GM Prize, supported by General Motors and selected as a finalist for The Elevate Prize, supported by The Elevate Prize Foundation!

GRANT SECURED!
We are excited to announce that IEI has been awarded a $300,000 grant from The Energy Foundation, for work with tribes in the plains states and upper midwest.

NAVIGATING THE IRA BILL
The Inflation Reduction Act has over 60 provisions directly benefitting Native American Tribres. IEI is being being counted on by U.S. Department of Energy as trusted partner to disseminate information and provide support to tribes to aid them in taking advantage of the tremendous clean energy benefits this legislation provides. We hosted an informational webinar for tribes with the US Department of Energy on October 13th which can be found on our website.

ON THE ROAD
We attended and had speaking engagements at 5 major solar and tribal conferences throughout the months of September and October to raise awareness of our important work.  We will continue to meet tribes where they are at and share knowledge, information and support to mitigate climate change, transform economies, and foster a self-determined path towards energy sovereignty.
