Hello friends! We are back with the quarterly update on our solar powered computer centre. As we shared in our last report, first few months were dedicated to finalising the location for setting up the solar plant with the help of a team of architects. Feasibility audit was conducted and the terrace of office building was finalised as the location for installing the solar panels. The second stage included finalising a solar firm.

After conducting a closer scrutiny of the firms engaged in setting up solar power plants, we zeroed on to Sharika Enterprise. They agreed to support our project on actual cost basis which helped us keep the project cost strictly under the budget. A ground audit was conducted by the field team on the available power setup and specifications so that the solar power set up is made compatible with the existing power infrastructure.

About Sharika Enterprise: They are the Manufacturer, Supplier, Installer & Promoter of Green Energy, Especially in the field of Solar & LED to contribute small amount of its technology in Jawaharlal Nehru Solar Mission. They also have the business of LED product manufacturing, Dry type Transformer manufacturing, Sub-Station work, SCADA & Control panel work and laying of transmission line upto 33kv. For more details please visit their website www.sharikaindia.com

After receiving the ground audit details, Sharika Enterprise prepared a detailed proposal. The proposal had specification on the technical component, design and required material. The proposal has been approved by the field team and the engineers from the Sharika enterprise would soon start the setting up process. Once the plant is set up, we’ll move on to the final stage in which we’ll build a computer centre which would be fully powered by the solar plant. The centre would have 30 laptops and a computer instructor would be hired for running the centre.

We are hoping to announce the functioning of our solar plant in our next quarterly update. Meanwhile please spread the word about this initiative and let the new supporters join in to make this project a reality. Keep visiting this space for more updates.
