In 2024, Indonesia recorded a carbon emission of 297,22 million tons of carbon emission from the generation of electricity, only second to the processing industry sector. Each year Indonesia needs 1,441 kWh/person, which is a huge amount. The national electricity company has slashed carbon emissions in 2024 by 921,119 tons, a great amount but still far from the total carbon emitted from electricity generation.
