Dear Donors,
Tana River Life Foundation (TRLF) extends its sincere appreciation for the continued support towards the Solar Lanterns initiative targeting interior schools that lack electricity connectivity in Tana Delta, Kenya. Your contribution has enabled us to improve learning conditions for children in remote areas.
We wish to inform that schools across Kenya have closed on 24th October, 2025 for the December Christmas holidays (two months break) to 5th January, 2025 when they shall reopen for the new academic calendar. The early closure of schools was to also pave way for national exams i.e, Grade 6 - Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) & Grade 9 - Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA). As a result, TRLF temporarily paused solar lanterns field activities and rollout of the distribution to Kitere Primary until when schools reopens.
TRLF remains committed to ensuring that the solar lanterns reach the intended learners and make a meaningful impact on their education. A detailed progress report shall be shared after the field visit and lanterns distribution to Kitere Primary school as from January, 2026.
Thank you once again for your partnership and dedication to improving education in marginalized communities of Tana Delta Kenya. God bless.
