Dear Donors,

It is our hope that this August, 2025 Solar Lanterns update from Tana Delta - Kenya, finds everyone of you well and in good health.

In mid-July, 2025; Tana River Life Foundation (TRLF) paid a visit to Kitere Comprehensive School- an off-grid learning institution located in rural Kitere village in Tana Delta, Kenya. This school is far from the nearest electricity connection. The lack of power has historically limited evening study sessions and the hosting of school events after daylight hours. Recognizing these challenges, TRLF found it of great noble to generously provide solar lanterns to enhance lighting for education purposes to foster improvement of exam results. With a target population of 104 students (Grade 7 – 68 students, Grade 8 – 46 students); by September, 2025 TRLF intends to supply solar lanterns to be distributed to the said number of students.

Elated Grade 7 13years old girl, Margret M. had the following to say; “assistance with the solar lanterns shall help me during night studies to accomplish my school’s set targets as well excel in my studies.”On the other hand, Mohamed I. a 14years old grade 7 student said that, “the lanterns shall assist me to maximize my time by carrying out my night studies where I believe I shall eventually succeed in the National Exams.’’

Lastly, TRLF extends heartfelt gratitude to all donors for their unwavering support in bridging the education gap for underprivileged students in the interior of Tana Delta, Kenya. May you be richly blessed.
