Dear Donors & Friends,

Greetings and receive much blessings for your continual support.

The year 2022 has been a unique year for us on our education as the education calendar will see five sets of candidate groups sit for national examinations within one year, this was results of post Covid as we are in the process of recovering the year lost on education and mostly the terms are squeezed. Our Grade 8 and Form 4 sat their exam in March then in December three candidate classes (Grade 6, Grade 8 and Form 4) will aslo sit for their national exam. We are also approaching the end of primary school for our grade 6 learners according to new education curriculum (focussing on skills development from young age) and preparing for the inaugural class of junior secondary school in January 2023.

The Kenyan economy has in the recent months witnessed a sharp rise in prices of almost all commodities. The cost of living is currently very high beyond the reach of majority of citizens. This was due to the uncertainties of the general elections conducted in August as well as inflation. On 13th September 2022, the new president was sworn in and we are hoping the economy can start being steady though at a slow pace. We are grateful that we have not witnessed any instances of violence and it has been very peaceful.

We still continued towards lighting the lives of students from the Tana Delta and this quarter we issued 30 solar lanterns to class 7 and class 8 students of Kibokoni Primary school which we had done a survey on the last quarter. The teachers were overwhelmed and grateful for the support accorded to them and promised to improve on their academic performance and excellence in the national exams. Due to rains, we couldn’t reach the other centre we planned to distribute as the roads were impassable.

Thanks for your continual support and be blessed.
