Over 1,000 children in Langas Eldoret's largest informal settlement have nowhere safe to play. Vijana Tuungane Youth Group is changing that through the power of football. We are raising funds to purchase soccer equipment and secure a community playing field, giving Langas youth a safe space to grow, belong, and dream. Sport is one of the most proven tools for youth empowerment keeping children off the streets and building the next generation of community leaders.
Langas is one of Eldoret's largest informal settlements, yet its children have no safe space to play. No field. No equipment. No structure. Over 1,000 young people are left idle and vulnerable at risk of school dropout, substance abuse, and worse. In Langas, talent goes unnoticed and potential goes untapped simply because opportunity never arrived.
Vijana Tuungane Youth Group will purchase soccer equipment and secure a dedicated community playing field in Langas, giving over 1,000 children a safe, structured space to play and grow. Football will be the vehicle but youth empowerment is the destination. Through organized matches, coaching, and community tournaments, we will keep young people engaged, disciplined, and connected to positive role models. A field. A ball. A future.
A safe space to play today becomes a foundation for life tomorrow. This project will keep 1,000+ Langas youth active and engaged, reduce school dropout, curb substance abuse, and unlock athletic talent that would otherwise go unnoticed. As the model proves itself, Vijana Tuungane will expand it to other underserved settlements across Eldoret. One field. Generational change.
