lDear friends,
On behalf of Darfur Women Network (DWN), I would like to express my gratitude for your generous donations that allow us to continue to serve the Touloum refugees in Chad. I am excited that our partnership with GlobalGiving is unique, helpful and very beneficial. Through the GlobalGiving Website, we are able to connect and network with many individuals and companies, thus increasing our exposure and donations.
The DWN received $160 in donations during our Year–End Campaign 2014. We are very thankful for our continued donor support. Our projects rely very heavily on donations and every dollar counts. A DWN board member is heading to the refugee camp in Chad by the end of February to help set-up the inventory management training system to kick-start the Soap Making Project in March 2015. Our team member will also work with the Interior Ministry within Chad to issue the necessary permits to allow the DWN permission to distribute soap making ingredients and tools to start the operation.
These permits need to be signed prior to the launch of the project to ensure the women’s production group receives back the initial cost of the ingredients and tools received for the training. One goal of these groups is to inspire, empower and transform the thinking of other women in their community. This project will also provide the refugees with regular access to hygiene tools for a reasonable price within their camp.
May I ask those who have soap cutter and safety tools or know who have access to these tools ,please help connect us with the resources.
