Dear Donors,

This project has been completed in November 20120 as we reported in our last report.

This project is very helping our children reduce their worries of snake bites. Because our children live at the school full-time, knowing that they are secure and safe is crucial for their health. Thus, they can play and do school activities again as normal and happy children

On behalf of the Yaowawit school, we thank you: your generous support and help have made it possible for the children to stay safe from the snakes and to sleep in their dormitory rooms without the worries of the snakes.

Kind regards,
Yaowawit Team

Dear Sponsor

Another school term has started since last month July 1, 2020. Along with it, we also welcome 50 new students who have been admitted into different levels from kindergarten to primary school. Currently we have 109 students in total (figures 1 and 2).

The rainy season is coming again at Yaowawit. Wet and dark school grounds have attracted snakes. The children have run into them in the gardens, playgrounds, toilets, and classrooms. Since we installed the snake repellent devices and garden lamps for the school grounds is very helpful and keep snake away from our kids so we not found snake as before anymore

(All the kids are very happy and feeling safe) (figures 3 and 4).

On behalf of the children, we thank you: your generous support and help have made it possible for the children to sleep in their dormitory rooms without the worries of the snake and poisonous animal.

As this project is still open, please share it with your friends. Any further donations can be saved for any of the snake repellent devices that we may buy more later on.

 Kind regards,
Yaowawit Team

Dear Donors,

This time we replaced two damaged snake repellent devices (figures 1 and 2). The damages were caused by two likely accidents.

The first accident was by the grasscutter (figure 4). This area is often covered in long grass especially during the rainy season. So, when the grasscutters trimmed the grass, they might have cut the repellent device as well. The repellent device was found uprooted and with cut marks.

The second accident was likely by the kids (figure 3). This area is the yard beside the kindergarten and grade 1 classrooms. The kids from this group often played and ran around along the yard, especially outside school hours or on weekends. Some might have kicked the repellent device. It was uprooted, and the bottom part of its system was broken and cut off.

We already informed the grasscutter team and the kids to be very careful when using the mentioned areas so as not to damage the snake repellent devices. In fact, we got the kids to see the replacement of the snake repellent devices so that they can help us keep those devices in place.

Thank you for your generous support. As this project is still open, please share it with your friends. Any further donations can be saved for any of the snake repellent devices that we may buy more later on.

Kind regards,
Yaowawit Team

Dear Donors,

This time we needed to maintain three of the snake repellent devices (figures 1, 3, and 4) because they were found pulled out of their spots. Probably some of the kids did that. But the snake repellent devices were all still there. What we needed to do was to plant them again at their designated spots.

The kids from grade 2 lent a hand. They needed to see where the snake repellent devices were planted so that they could also help to look after those devices. One more device was placed by the window of grade-2 classroom (figure 5). This was done because the grade-2 teachers had requested one there because some of the kids had seen some rats there. (Note that rats may attract snakes.)

In the last 3 months after we planted all the snake repellent devices at the strategic spots (figure 2), we have not spotted any snake ever since. The result can be attributed to the summer season that has been occuring in Thailand until June, the impact of the snake repellent devices, and the woods now growing along the hill slope, where snakes may go to hide.

Thank you for your generous support. As this project is still open, please share it with your friends. Any further donations can be saved for any of snake repellent devices that we may buy more for use in the next rainy season.

Kind regards,
Yaowawit Team

Dear Donors,

Last week we received one snake repellent device as a replacement for the damaged one. On Saturday, 23 November 2019, we installed this device near the kindergarten classroom (figure 2). Further work was done to check for any loose devices, and some were thus installed again (figures 3 - 5).

This device completed the 25-device set that we installed earlier (figure 1). Additionally, we have also ordered 10 more devices that we hope to receive in these coming weeks. Once we get them, we will install them soon afterward.

As you know, this project is still open for funding. Please share it with anyone who may be interested in supporting it. Your generous support will help protect 140 disadvantaged children who live at Yaowawit School from any risk of snakebites.

On behalf of the children, thank you for your generosity.

Kind regards,
Yaowawit Team
