Alliance for Positive Change urgently needs sleeping bags for the unhoused New Yorkers. We serve low-income New Yorkers with HIV and other chronic conditions, including people who are homeless or unstably housed. Extreme winter conditions in New York City pose serious risks to our participants, and donations of sleeping bags are critical in helping them stay safe and warm in freezing temperatures. Donate to help us purchase 100+ sleeping bags to save lives!
Rising living costs in New York City continues to deepen the affordability crisis our participants face alongside mental health conditions, substance use, chronic illness, and/or stigma. As temperatures drop below freezing this winter, protecting their safety and well-being becomes increasingly urgent. A warm sleeping bag provides protection and an added layer of warmth that can be lifesaving.
A donation of 100+ sleeping bags helps ensure participants stay warm and safe when sleeping outdoors or in unheated spaces this winter. These items provide immediate protection and comfort, while also serving as a critical point of connection to housing, health care, food access, and other supportive services that can help improve and maintain health and stability.
We serve low-income and unhoused New Yorkers living with HIV and other chronic conditions. Our goal of providing 100+ sleeping bags ensures our unhoused participants will receive immediate warmth while building trust and connection to health care and more comprehensive supportive services. When individuals know they can rely on us for essential warm items, they are more likely to engage in care that supports long-term health and stability.
