In recent months, Desafío Levantemos Chile has continued working closely with the Ministry of Health, local health services, and communities across the Aysén region to prepare for the upcoming Dermatology Mission.
Our teams have focused on prevention and early detection, conducting field visits and health screenings to identify elderly residents suffering from treatable skin conditions, such as benign tumors, cysts, and chronic lesions, that often go untreated due to long waiting lists and geographic isolation.
Through this collaborative effort, we have been able to strengthen our network with local hospitals and dermatology professionals, ensuring the necessary coordination for the future surgical campaign at the Hospital Regional de Coyhaique. These preparations are crucial to guarantee that when surgeries begin, patients will receive timely, high-quality, and compassionate care.
Although we still need to raise additional funds to reach our goal of treating 160 elderly patients, every donation makes a difference. With your help, we can reduce waiting times, prevent unnecessary suffering, and improve the quality of life for vulnerable people in one of Chile’s most remote regions.
We sincerely thank our current donors for their trust and support. Together, we are building a path toward equitable access to specialized dermatological care in Aysén.
