Sarmila (not her real name) a poor slum women was in a shock when her healthy husband died within two days of illness. Unfortunatly, she was not educated enough to get a grade IV job. She was just studied upto Class-X. After her husband's sudden demise, all the responsibilities of family and children was now on her. For some months she managed it by doing petty works here and there and selling the little jewellery she has. But she was dreaming to do something respectable. When she came to know about Ruchika’s free tailoring training program. she came to our office and joined immediately. Her need and jeal for earning something for her family make it possible for her to complete the training program within six months. She is now stitching all types of dresses and earning around 6000 rupees per month. She has also opened a petty readymade shop in her house and selling children and women's dresses. Now she is able to take care of the family and her children’s education from her earnings. She is very happy!
