Empower 100 Unemployed Youths in Oyo state with practical skills in Agro Allied Business Enterprise through an intensive 5-day boot camp where there will learn Snail farming, bee keeping and honey production, Fish production and processing, digital marketing, and business and financial intelligence, soft skills and many more. Participants at the boot camp will be expected to mentor and train a minimum of 5 community youths in order to step down the knowledge and information acquired.
The youth unemployment rate in Nigeria in 2017 was 61.6% with more than 15,000 youths currently unemployed. Though several interventions are being put in place, the effort of the government is however insufficient to meet with employment needs of the people. In the face of poverty, people are likely to turn to crime just to survive. This project will have direct impact of employment generation on 100 youths and indirect impact on 500 other youths
The Boot camp will provide opportunity to learn agro allied and business management skills that will provide employment for the participants and improve their livelihood. Participants will also league of trainers who will train and empower other community members, hence a multiplier effect
The long term effect of this project is that it will directly empower 100 unemployed youths while maintaining its potential to empower more than 500 youths annually as initial beneficiaries will continue to train their immediate community members
