International humanitarian relief organization, ShelterBox continues to respond to multiple disasters around the world, including the Syrian refugee crisis in the Middle East, flooding in Sudan and Pakistan, and a typhoon in the Philippines.
Over two years of escalating conflict and political unrest has caused millions of Syrian families to flee. Since last fall, ShelterBox has been responding to this humanitarian crisis, providing aid to refugee families living in Iraq, Lebanon and Turkey, and continue to work with implementing partners to pipeline ShelterBox aid to internally displaced families within Syria's borders.
ShelterBox provides families with emergency shelter and supplies to help them survive the first days, weeks and months as they try to rebuild their lives after losing everything in a disaster. This aid includes disaster relief tents, water filtration kits, cook-stoves, blankets and other essential tools. Donations to this project will help ShelterBox procure and deliver aid to families displaced by these and future disasters around the world-providing shelter, warmth, dignity and hope.
In order to respond immediately after disasters strike, ShelterBox must have equipment packed and ready to go before the disasters strike. Tents must be ordered in advance, ShelterBoxes must be positioned in strategic locations, and response team members must be trained for the chaotic situations they encounter. These funds will help ShelterBox send equipment to families affected by these disasters and secure aid to ensure a rapid response in preparation for the next inevitable disasters.
