A sewing machine can give a teenage mother in Uganda a path to earning a living and providing for her child. Your support will equip 50 teenage mothers with sewing machines, enabling them to start or grow small businesses, earn sustainable income, support their children, and break the cycle of poverty.
Many teenage mothers in Uganda face poverty, limited education and few opportunities to earn a stable income. After becoming mothers at a young age, many lack practical skills, business resources and capital to start livelihoods. Without income-generating opportunities, they can remain dependent on others and struggle to provide for themselves and their children.
The project will provide sewing machines to 50 teenage mothers who are already participating in an ongoing one-year skilling program in tailoring, fashion and design. After completing the training, each beneficiary will receive a sewing machine to start or expand a small tailoring business. This will enable them to earn income, support their children, become financially self-reliant and ultimately break the cycle of poverty.
The project will help teenage mothers turn practical skills into sustainable sources of income. With a sewing machine after completing the one-year program, beneficiaries can start their own businesses, support their children, meet basic household needs and potentially create employment for others. Ultimately, the project aims to promote financial self-reliance and break the cycle of poverty for teenage mothers and their children.
