For undernourished children, vitamins are life-giving nutrients. The Global Renourish Organization (GRO) plans to supply three thousand children with lifesaving vitamins in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea. Although small in size, vitamins are necessary for life, health and growth.
Rates of child undernutrition and child mortality in the countries of Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea are among the highest in the world. Without necessary vitamins and minerals, children's bodies and brains do not develop properly, causing devasting health complications including child stunting, while robbing millions of the opportunity to reach their full potential.
GRO aims to provide nutrient-rich supplementation to children who need it most. Supplementation has been ranked as the most effective, immediate and sustainable solution to curb undernutrition by the World Health Organization, transforming lives and preventing deaths. We care deeply about how fast we curb undernutrition, which is why we only provide vitamins and minerals that are food-based. These contain powerhouse nutrients derived from whole foods, such as carrots, spinach and celery.
Our work has rich impact on every scale - from the visible growth of an individual child, all the way to social and economic development. Funding 3,000 undernourished children with lifesaving vitamins means we're also funding a better future for these children. Give a dose of kindness today, give the gift of vitamins.
