We are pleased to share an exciting update on the 2024/2025 Wheelchairs for Kids shipment. The container carrying 166 wheelchairs is currently en route to Kenya and is expected to arrive in approximately two weeks. Once in Kenya, it will go through customs clearance before being prepared for distribution.
As part of our commitment to sustainability and capacity building, an Australian Occupational Therapist will travel to Kenya in May/June. This visit will focus on training local OTs, ensuring they gain valuable hands-on experience and expertise in customising and fitting the Wheelchairs for Kids mobility aids.
Following this training, we will distribute the 166 wheelchairs to children in need all around Kenya, transforming lives by providing mobility, access to education, and increased independence.
With this shipment, our total distribution will increase to 382 wheelchairs, a milestone made possible by your generous support.
