Inspiring Change :Bridge to Hope

By Wendy T Muzite | Project Officer

Our Dearest Friends,

We hope this message finds you well, and we are delighted to share our report with you. Your support means the world to us and has been invaluable as we work towards empowering the next generation.

In our last update, we expressed the critical need for children and teachers from Zimbabwe to share their "I Can Stories," allowing them to learn from peers worldwide on a global platform. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, the FAWEZI team was unable to attend the Design for Change (DFC) summit held in Dubai in November 2024. This summit represented a significant opportunity for children worldwide to showcase their innovative stories of change, and we were disappointed not to be part of it.

Despite this setback, we are proud to report that FAWEZI successfully facilitated the virtual submission of stories from various learners, enabling them to highlight their experiences and innovations through the Design for Change framework. We are happy to share that, although our team was not physically present at the summit, two inspiring stories from Zimbabwe were showcased, representing the creativity and resilience of our learners.

As we look towards the future, our dear friends, we emphasize the urgent need for continued support for our learners. Our learners are preparing for another significant conference in Japan in 2025, aimed at further promoting the sharing of "I Can" stories and fostering cross-cultural learning among children and educators. Participation in such events is crucial for the growth and development of our learners, allowing them to learn from global peers, enhance their own projects, and inspire further innovation.

FAWEZI remains deeply committed to empowering Zimbabwean children and teachers through the Design for Change initiative. We kindly call upon your unwavering support to enable our learners’ participation in future summits, ensuring they can continue to share their ideas, innovations, and experiences on a global stage. Your support will play a vital role in transforming the lives of these young individuals and enabling them to become the change-makers of tomorrow.

We remain immensely grateful for your unwavering support,

From all of us here at FAWEZI: Thank you for believing in our mission and for standing with us in this  journey.
