Sharing Innovation: The Journey Continues!

By Wendy T Muzite | Project Officer

Our Dearest Friends

We hope to find to well and are happy to be sharing our first report with you.

In our last update we indicated the need for to ensure children and teachers from Zimbabwe share their I Can Stories and experiences and learn from other countries at a global platform.

Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, the FAWEZI team was unable to attend the Design for Change summit held in Dubai in November 2024. This summit represented a significant opportunity for children worldwide to showcase their innovative stories of change. Despite this setback, FAWEZI facilitated the virtual submission of stories from various learners, highlighting their experiences and innovations through the Design for Change framework.

We are happy to share that two stories from Zimbabwe where shared during the summit, although the team was not physically present.

As we look towards the future our dear friends, it is imperative for us to emphasize the need for continued support for our learners. The DFC club is preparing for another significant conference in Japan in 2025, which aims to further promote the sharing of "I Can" stories and foster cross-cultural learning among children and educators. Ensuring participation in such events is crucial for the growth and development of our youth, allowing them to learn from global peers and enhance their own projects.

FAWEZI remains committed to empowering Zimbabwean children and teachers through the Design for Change initiative. We call for your unwavering support to enable our learner’s participation in future summits, so that our learners can continue to share their innovations and experiences on a global stage.

We remain grateful for your unwavering support and wishing you a fruitful festive season.

From all of us here at FAWEZI: Thank you.
