By Nonna Ponferrada | President, FPVI
This year's FPVI Reading and Rhythm Program was conducted at Astorga Elementary School, located in another barangay (village) under Tunga, FPVI's hometown. Twenty-eight students participated in this intensive reading program, which aimed to help Grade 5 and 6 learners ease their transition to high school in the short term and, in the longer term, instill in them the importance of reading as a lifelong skill. Serving as Reading Mentors, the FPVI students performed superbly, just as they did in the previous years. Their dedication, patience, and care earned compliments from the participants, teachers, and school officials who witnessed the week-long activities.
