The WOW Tanzania Student Fund gives vulnerable children-like orphans and those facing abuse, poverty, malnutrition, and unsafe living conditions-a chance to attend safe, high-quality boarding schools. These bright, motivated students deserve protection and opportunity. Your support provides more than education-it offers hope, healing, and a path to a better future. Help a child like Emmanuel, Aziza, and Hope grow in safety and dignity.
In Tanzania, 437,500 street children face violence and abuse, with 38% living in single-mother households. The country has 2.6 million orphans, 40% due to AIDS, with orphanhood peaking at 18% among older children. Public schools are overcrowded and under-resourced, leading to low progression and high dropout rates. Only 5% advance to secondary school, and just 30% of Tanzanians hold a high school diploma. Many HIV/AIDS orphans lack family support and struggle to pay fees.
The WOW Tanzania Student Fund identifies bright, motivated children from unsafe, unclean, impoverished, and disadvantaged homes and places them in safe, high-quality boarding schools. This support leads to better academic outcomes, improved behavior and health, reduced exposure to violence and substance abuse, and stronger emotional well-being. By providing a stable learning environment, the project helps break cycles of poverty and creates lasting change.
Educating vulnerable children creates long-term impact: higher graduation rates, healthier lifestyles, and reduced poverty. Students gain confidence, form stronger relationships, and are less likely to engage in crime or substance abuse. Over time, they become skilled professionals-teachers, nurses, tradespeople-who uplift their families and strengthen their communities for generations to come.
