Dear WOWzers,
We are happy to report that Oliva and Tunu’s toilet construction project is now on the final leg of completion. The walls have been successfully built and the structure is standing strong; all that remains is the installation of the roof, sink, and water tank. Before this project, the girls and their elderly father were forced to use a dangerous and unhygienic method—balancing on rotten wooden boards over a hole in the ground with no water for washing. Because of your generosity, they now have a clean, safe, and dignified place to use the bathroom, and their lives have been completely changed.
At the same time, we began helping three other little children living in severe poverty—Darius, Doreen, and Gregory. Gregory is only four years old, and Doreen, the oldest, is just seven. They were living in what neighbors called the “chicken shack,” a fragile shelter made of metal sheets, with no water, no electricity, little food, and even snakes hiding in and around the structure. The family temporarily stayed at a friend’s home, but when the friend needed their space back, they were facing homelessness. Their elderly father is unable to work, leaving them especially vulnerable.
Because of your donations, we were able to build a small, humble shelter for this family from the ground up. It is not luxury, but it is clean, secure, and safe—a place where the children can sleep without fear. What began as a simple emergency shelter quickly became something more beautiful. When the neighbors saw what was happening, they were moved with compassion and began contributing materials of their own, helping to expand the structure into what will soon become a proper house.
Oliva and Tunu, along with Darius, Doreen, Gregory, and their fathers, send their heartfelt thanks. They ask us to say, “May God bless everyone who made this possible.” Your support has restored safety, dignity, and hope to these families. Thank you for standing with us—because of you, lives are being saved and futures are being rebuilt.
