We did it! Returning from Malawi

By Lizzie Kubo Kirschenbaum | Development Intern

As the students return from Malawai and bring their summertime experiences with them into the new school year, we thank each and every one of you for contributing to this project and making the trek possible! Just to give all of our wonderful donors a small update: we are working to secure a time for a welcome reception for the students so that their stories may be heard, and they can truly reflect on the wonderful experience they have participated in.

As of now, buildOn as a whole is excited to announce the release of CEO and Founder Jim Ziolkowski's book: A Walk in Their Shoes. This book, written by New York Times best-seller James S. Hirsch, details Ziolskowski's journey from young financier to philathropist. Every book purchased will be matched by a $15 donation to our Global School Construction programs in Africa, and will automatically enter you into a contest to go on a trek, just like the studends from Eastern High School! http://www.buildon.org/walk-in-their-shoes-contest/

Keep an eye out for upcoming projects that will help send even more kids to another trek in the upcoming months! Again, we thank you for all that you have contributed to the DC BuildOn chapter, and we look forward to keeping up the good work!
