SECOND SEMESTER
By Rose Bugusu | Director
We are glad to report that of our high school students are well and they will be starting their mid term holiday on 20th of June. As you all know they are in boarding schools and they were visited the end of last month. The school fees for the the second semester has been paid and we are grateful for your support. You are making these students to stay in school and attend to all the activities in their respective schools.
The cow project is doing well, most of the cows are calving and we are getting milk for sale. We have given out 20 cows for 20 children. In the next two years we will be selling calves to pay school fees for the students. This is happening because of YOU and we continue to encoruage you to share this good cause with your family members, friends. We will reach out to more only if we share and encourage others to join us. Together we can make a difference.
We are sorry we dont have pictures of the students as they are in school, we will be sending pictures once they come back for their half term.
Thank you

High School Students' progress
By Rose Bugusu | Director

students who joined high school this year
Our first two groups of primary school have completed high school. The first group had 17 students and they did their final high school exam in the year 2016. Seven of them joined different universities and Ten have joined other tertiary colleges. The second group which did their final exams last year (2017) were Twenty. Eleven of them have joined different universities and Nine have joined tertiary colleges. This has succeeded because of YOUR commitment and sacrifice to make a difference in the lives of the orphaned and poor children.
YOUR support has enabled us to help these children because high school fees is very expensive and not many poor and orphans find opportunity to finish. In Malava about 150,000 children get to go through primary school but only 15% join and complete high school. An orphan or a poor child finishing high school is so encouraging in our community. YOU have enabled Tumaini to pay school fees for these children and it is not taken for granted, the Mark has been marked and will never be erased in their lives and even in the community.
This year has been so hard for Tumaini family as High school fees has not been paid well. Our high school page is not active and we struggled this semester. Most of our students were sent home due to unpaid school fees and it was sad to see them back home. We know we can do better to help these students to remain in school and study and this will be achieved if we can share what we are doing with our families and friends. Most of our friends may not be knowing what we are doing in the lives of the needy, please find time and share our cause to build our support family.
Once again thank you for your support and your passion to make a difference in the lives of the needy. Together we can!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!
By Rose Bugusu | Director
![Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!]()
Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!
On behalf of Tumaini Family I take this opportunity to thank GlobalGiving Board of Directors, the staff and all the sponsors. We have no words enough to tell what YOU have done in the lives of the Tumaini children and the community in general. So far we have students who joined university this year and the youth at the trade school have joined technical schools for further studies. YOU have not only educated but have empowered the Youth at the trade school and created employment for the community members. The cow program has made a huge impact in the lives of the community members as their health has changed and there is hope for their children's high school education. The feeding program has not only made the children stay in school but has improved their health.
Our dining hall is almost done and children will now enjoy eating their lunch from a shelter and not on the sun nor rain. We cant forget to update you on our computer classes, next year is an exciting year because of the computer classes. We once again thank you for your sacrifice, commitment and your heart to make a difference.
WE ALL WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A PROSPEROUS HAPPY NEW YEAR!
