East Eagle Foundation plans to build six classrooms, two latrines and one school office to provide free education for children with disability. the primary beneficiaries of this school are 204 disabled children of Nsele City, in Kinshasa-DRC. The project will contribute to solving the problem of school exclusion suffered by disabled children and wants to mitigate the risks associated with human rights violations for children with disabilities and barriers to access to quality education.
EEF has identified 204 disabled children who do not go to school in the town of Nsele-Kinshasa DR Congo. the main causes are poverty of parents (60%), inaccessibility in some schools: These schools have not taken into account the conditions of accessibility of disabled students (30%) and the erroneous perception of disability in communities: some parents believe that children with disabilities do not need to go to school study together with other children without disabilities (10%).
EEF will build an inclusive primary school (a school accessible for students with and without disabilities) with six class rooms that will consider the accessibility requirements for disabled people, with capacity of 50 students per room. 204 children in need of schooling already identified by EEF in this area will be enrolled in this school and continue to be supported to complete their primary education and all children with disabilities have the same opportunity of education as other children
EEF will support the inclusive education for 204 disabled children and create a favorable and protector school environment for children with and without disabilities.
