Providing steady free clean supply of water for the Center to eliminate current restrictions and to avoid children having to fetch water manually from village tap located 10 minutes away from Msamaria as part of their daily chores. Project Budget: -Government permission fee for digging: 130 USD -Digging project: 5300 USD -Pumping water into Msamarias premises: 1025 USD
The water supply is insufficient for the children to maintain healthy and balanced lives. Water is supplied only twice a week or less (depending on the time of the year). Msamarias water demand is estimated at 5000 liters per day. The current supply does not fulfill this demand. Once the water tanks run out (normally on the very same day of the supply), Msamarias staff and children must fetch water with buckets from the village until the following provision of water comes.
The digging project will provide Msamaria will a steady and free supply of water to meet the needs of the 100 people that live and work in its premises. It will eliminate the need for children to be constantly forced to fetch water manually from village supply (10 minute steep walk).
The project will have a huge impact on the lives of the children improving the health and living conditions at the Center immensely.
