Since January 2024, SCI HIGH has continued to empower students through hands-on scientific exploration. Our clubs have operated in schools across three regions—Haskovo, Sofia and Vratsa— engaging over 50 students, their teachers and mentors in research projects this academic year. We are also excited to have expanded to the Professional High School of Transport and Agricultural Technologies “N.Y. Vaptsarov” in the Haskovo region.
In February, we partnered with another educational NGO to deliver a free online workshop titled "How Students Can Learn the Scientific Approach and Have Fun," engaging teachers from across Bulgaria.
In March, SCI HIGH facilitated an online meeting where student teams from Haskovo, Vratsa, and Sofia presented their progress. Among the topics covered by this year’s projects were recycling, wildlife conservation, air pollution, water pollution, eco-fuels, health and unhealthy habits.
April saw our participation in the educational forum "The Good Practices in Focus," where we connected with school directors and teachers to spread the word about our successes. One inspiring story comes from a student team from Haskovo, who developed a water cleaning system prototype, winning an award for best research project in “Experimental Ecology and Environmental Science” at an international STEM competition.
The past month has been particularly busy as the students’ research projects are reaching the reporting stage while the dates for the local and national STEM fests are approaching. We are looking forward to welcoming all participants and visitors to the National Sci High STEM Fest 2024 on 15 of June in Sofia!
Our recent activities have reinforced the importance of practical science education and fostered community awareness and engagement. With ongoing discussions to establish clubs in two new regions, our strategic expansion efforts continue to align with our vision.
With your continued support, we aim to open SCI-HIGH clubs in six more schools next year, further supporting teachers and students. Your generosity is essential to our mission of enhancing science literacy and fostering innovation among Bulgaria’s youth. Thank you for your growing support!
