From January to May 2025, our Sci High community has been buzzing with activity and progress. Currently, 20 student teams across all our partner schools are working closely with their science mentors, searching for effective solutions to real-world challenges. This vibrant mentor-student collaboration continues to be at the heart of our mission, driving curiosity, learning, and innovation.
In October, we held our regular teacher training sessions "Applying the scientific approach and teaching STEM at school" which equip STEM teachers with modern teaching techniques and prepare them to take the first steps towards opening a STEM club at their school. We are happy to welcome new teachers to our Sci High community and believe the dedication and enthusiasm they bring to their teaching will translate into more children developing critical thinking, following their curiosity and discovering the beauty of science.
Our regional science festivals are in full swing! Just this week, we were part of two exciting events: one at SoftUni BUDITEL, where we welcomed over 80 guests, and another at the 27th school in the district of Lyulin. The event reached more than 100 guests. These festivals are a celebration of young minds exploring science and sharing their discoveries with their communities.
Over the past month, we’ve had some truly inspiring moments. Together with team members from IBM and our science clubs in Kozloduy, we organized a motivational visit to the nuclear power center – an unforgettable learning opportunity for the students. We also partnered with a major regional educational event in Kozloduy, reinforcing our commitment to building strong local connections. We were thrilled to see our students participating in the FISSION Science Festival at the American College, showcasing their work alongside other young scientists.
One of our proudest moments for the period came from Haskovo, where a student team earned a grant to develop a water filtration project—an idea that was born and nurtured within our science clubs.
Looking ahead, we are preparing for the regional festival in Haskovo, which will take place on June 4th. Even more exciting, preparations are underway for our National Science Festival - SCI HIGH STEM FEST on June 8th, which we are proud to organize for a third consecutive year in partnership with the Faculty of Biology at Sofia University.
As always, we are deeply grateful for every student, mentor, donor, volunteer, partner, and supporter who walks with us on this journey. Together, we’re building a stronger, more curious generation of young scientists. Stay connected with us through our website and Facebook to follow the stories of our teams and their inspiring projects.
