This project is aimed to improve and restore the infrastructure of two schools in poor conditions located in the riverside communities of Santa Rosa and Nuevo Israel, in the Peruvian rainforest. This task will be performed through the improvement and restoration of the school's infrastructure and the delivery of school supplies and furniture. With these actions, 114 students and 6 teachers will be benefited.
The whole school's infrastructure is in a really bad state: foundations, floors, walls and ceilings. There are no bathrooms and the light is just provided by the sunlight that enters through the holes that are supposed to be the windows. The school's desks are really old and insufficient for the number of students. Also, since all students share a multi-grade space for learning, there is only a board in each school, which has been overused. For that reason, the children need additional boards.
This project will fix all the school's infrastructure. It will begin with the restoration of the foundations, which will help secure the new walls and ceilings. To help the learning conditions, this project also aims to install wiring for the electric power needed. Also, 114 new desks, 4 new teacher's desk and 4 new boards will be bought for the schools. 2 toilets and 2 sinks will be implemented per school, parallel to the execution of works to put pipes and drain in each one.
All these improvements are planned to get better learning conditions, which will help the kids' cognitive retention and, even more, will promote school assistance. With better school supplies and furniture, not only students will benefit, but also teachers will be able to perform better.
