Unfortunately, due to the COVID pandemic, the Myanmar border continues to be closed to foreigners, and international flights to the country have been halted. Sadly, we have not been able to make our mission trip this year. We had postponed our March trip to November in the hopes the borders would be open and the pandemic behind us. We now have had to cancel the November trip as our team and our cargo of gifts cannot get to the children.

We are hopeful we can return in 4 months, in March 2021 and resume our efforts to support our children. We are increasing our service from 500 kids to 800 kids, due to a coorporate partnership with a wonderful local charitable organization with similar goals.

We miss our children and friends in Myanmar and are very much looking forward to returning in 2021!

Here are a few wonderful memories of our kids....we can't wait to see them!

Thank you for your continued interest and support of PFK...we hope everyone is staying healthy!

One week before departing the U.S. for Yangon, we were forced to postpone the mission trip due to the Myanmar border being closed to foreigners due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We have rescheduled our trip for early November, after the Monsoon season ends, and look forward to seeing our children and bringing our gifts of backpacks filled with school supplies and school uniforms to 800 children.

While we are very disappointed not to be able to provide our assistance yet to the kids, they know we are still coming!

The pandemic has certainly wreaked havoc on our fundraising. We have had to cancel 4 live fundraising events in NY, London, Napa Valley, California and Yangon, Myanmar! PFK is being nimble and creating online fundraisers to help boost our funds to fulfill our goal of serving 2,500 children in Myanmar, Indonesia and Thailand. We are determined to do what we can to help our children....13 years and going strong!

I look forward to sharing better news in the next report, until then, be well and stay healthy!

The PFK Team is preparing for our upcoming mission trip to Myanmar at end of March!

We are excited to share that we will be serving a total of 800 chidren in Yangon and Mandalay, and this represents an increase of 300 chidlren over last year, and the addition of a new city in our outreach....Mandalay!

Our team gathered on a Saturday to prepare our supplies for shipping. Seven volunteers worked for 3.5 hours bundling pencils and pens, counting and packing tooth brushes, color pencils, color markers and more!

Our cargo of love is on its way and PFK arrives on March 28th to begin the festive week of delivering our gifts to the children. We have a team of Board members, vounteers, doctors, and local friends to join us as we handout the backpacks filled with school supplies and a school uniform or monastic robe to each child.

We look forward to sharing photos of our mission trip in our next report, but in the meantime, here are a few from our pack up two weeks ago.

Thank you for your continued support, it is greatly appreciated! Every dollar makes a difference.

Best,

Retta

PFK hosted our 2nd Annual Charity Golf Classic in Yangon on November 1st to great success!

The tournament, held at Pun Hlaing Golf Club, was well-attended by local business leaders and the ex-pat community...all coming out to support PFK and our mission to serve children in need with backpacks filled with school supplies and a school uniform.

Tournament sponsors included; Ford, Pun Hlaing Golf Club, Carlsberg Beer, Wine Link, 100 Plus!, DeLonghi, Singleton Whiskey, Diageo and SEEDS restaurant.

The event was an all-day fundraiser, with Welcome Brunch Cocktails, tournament, lunch, Cocktails, Dinner, Silent Auction, Raffle Drawing and a lovely presentation by PFK on our commitment to the children in Myanmar.

It was a wonderful day bringing PFK 's mission to life, building our awareness to the Yangon community and raising funds for our 2020 mission trip, which will serve 700+ kids.

See a few photos of this amazing day below!

Thank you!
