The children have successfully completed their school year, the repetition rate is zero, their teachers and parents have told us that they observe improvements in the children's attitudes and skills since they have their plate of food every day, although this school year ended in November 2022 the children continued to receive this plate of food during the vacations in the months of December 2022 and January 2023.
In February 2023 we started a new year in which school food and meals continue to be the main motivation for their school attendance.
Our School Feeding program has incorporated a new community, which is located in San Antonio de Oriente, department of Mesa Grande de Francisco Morazán, currently the Food Bank of Honduras continues to serve more rural communities in different departments of Honduras (El Paraíso and Cortés).
One of our main objectives for this school year is to keep our children in the classroom and continue to improve their nutritional status since they have had significant and very relevant improvements by continuing in the program.
From November 2022 to February 2023 we delivered 6,596 adequate, varied, balanced and sufficient lunches; distributed to 341 beneficiaries in 4 different schools and rural communities: Caserío Gualiqueme (Choluteca), Caserío Los Planes (Francisco Morazán), Aldea La Victoria (El Paraíso) and Aldea San José (Choluteca).
During this time, the Food Bank of Honduras provided education, guidance and nutritional and food counseling to more than 150 parents or guardians of children.
Our beneficiaries are children in situations of malnutrition, food vulnerability or poverty and enjoy this help thanks to the different donors.
