The children have received their lessons every day from Monday to Friday from August to October 2022. Food and school meals continue to be the main motivation for their school attendance.
Our School Feeding program has grown, currently the Food Bank of Honduras serves five rural communities in different departments of Honduras (Choluteca, El Paraíso, Cortés and Francisco Morazán).
From August through October 2022, the beneficiary schools have had no dropouts and all children continue to attend school. The end of the school year will be in November and all children will pass their school level.
From August to October 2022, we delivered a total of 4,000 kg of raw food, delivered for the preparation of 9,065 adequate, varied, balanced and sufficient lunches; distributed to 420 beneficiaries served in 5 different schools and rural communities: Aldea Las Marías (Choluteca), Caserío Gualiqueme (Choluteca), Caserío Los Planes (Francisco Morazán), Aldea La Victoria (El Paraíso) and Caserío El Chorizo (Cortés).
During this time, Banco de Alimentos de Honduras provided nutritional and food education, guidance and counseling to more than 410 parents or guardians of children.
Our beneficiaries are children in situations of malnutrition, food vulnerability or poverty and enjoy this help thanks to the different donors.
