SESSO Project Report - July 2025

Greetings and Blessings to our Project Supporters,

We hope this message finds you well, and we are happy to bring you an update on our students! They have been performing well in school, and we wanted to highlight a few recent accomplishments of a couple of our students.

Monica (our fourth grade student) was chosen as her football (soccer) team captain and helped lead her team to a second-place victory in the girls’ interclass football competition.

Abraham (one of our 12^th graders) has recently received a glowing report from his teachers regarding the positive impact he has made in their arts and drama department. It has reported that he delivers outstanding performances, has a strong stage presence and has encouraged many others to get interested in the arts. We are proud of his academic achievements as well as his ability to enjoy participating in the arts.

Stay tuned for graduation information for three of our students as we get nearer to the end of this 20025 calendar year!

SESSO Project Report - March 2025

Greetings and Blessings to our Project Supporters,

We are happy to be bringing you our first report of 2025... we hope the year has started off well for you. This report will provide an update on how SESSO did during the Move a Million campaign this past December, as well as update you on our students and on the current situation in South Sudan.

Move a Million - December 2024

We participated in GlobalGiving's Move a Million campaign right after Thanksgiving this past winter, and in case you missed it, we were able to raise a total of $2,620 in donations. This earned us a portion of GlobalGiving's bonus fund pool in the amount of $664 for a total of $3,284. This is one of the biggest opportunities to make donor dollars go far, and our donors really helped us out during this campaign, so THANK YOU.

Student Update

We have three students (Amour, Abraham and Nyamuch) in their first semester of 12th grade! Amazing! They will graduate high school this coming December. This is a huge milestone for these students, and a major reason for celebration. We will keep you posted as we get closer to graduation. Amour was able to go on a geography trip this semester, and was able to view the topography of the Great Rift Valley in Kenya. We are thankful for opportunities like this for our students to get to witness the beauty of this amazing planet we call home.

Monica is now in 4th grade, and Ajak is in 8th grade. Both are doing very well. Monica is playing soccer for the school's girls soccer club, as is James who is now in 10th grade and is still the Christian Union Prefect.

Current Situation in South Sudan

Please keep our students and the entire country of South Sudan in your thoughts and prayers. The world's youngest country gained independence in 2011, and then fell into an extremely deadly civil war that lasted until a peace deal in 2018. The country is once again on the brink of yet another civil war. At this time, it has been verified with teachers and guardians that our students attending school in South Sudan are ok for now, as is our founder Gabriel. But this is a fragile time for the entire country with heavy fighting and bombing already taking place. We will keep you informed as time goes on.

SESSO Project Report - November 2024

Greetings and Blessings to our Project Supporters,

We are happy to bring you another project report to update you on SESSO's operations students, and to remind you that GlobalGiving’s “Giving Tuesday” 2024 campaign is coming up on December 3. Any donations made on THAT DAY ONLY will increase the bonus amount given to SESSO directly from GlobalGiving’s $750,000-dollar pot. In the 2023 Giving Tuesday campaign, we received $1,603 from the bonus pot!

Update on New Students

In our last project report, we introduced you to two new scholarship recipients… Monica and Ajak. We would like to share some fun information about both students since they have begun their schooling. Monica is doing well in 3^rd grade, and she was also selected as a player in the girl’s football (soccer) club in her class. She is enjoying interacting with her teammates and other students.

SESSO’s founder Gabriel was able to meet with Ajak at his school, and Ajak expressed his deep appreciation for SESSO’s scholarship. He is doing well in 7^th grade, and he ran for head prefect last semester against two other students and won by a large margin. We are very proud of his love for learning and the initiative we have seen him take already.

Outstanding Student Special Report!

We would like to highlight one of our students who has shone extra bright for the past year. Our 9^th grade student James has been the academically highest performing student in his grade for two semesters in a row. His school has rewarded him for this accomplishment by awarding him a one-semester bursary (scholarship)! What an accomplishment! Please join us in congratulating him for his hard work.

Additionally, James is the Christian Union prefect at his school, and when our founder Gabriel recently visited his school, he was able to witness James leading the school’s morning prayer session. It is a joy to watch our students thrive, and James is doing it very well.
