“Vi " Virmani Trust is working for a life of Dignity and self Reliance for the Disadvantaged”
With a view to achieve the above objective, the Trust started the R. N. Virmani Memorial Endowment in the year 2002-03, to award scholarships to Indian Nationals for graduate studies in all fields, irrespective of caste, creed or community. The objective is to encourage and help meritorious and needy students from low income families to pursue higher studies in Colleges/Universities in India. Students passing out from XIIth standard from Dhanpatmal Virmani Sr.Sec. School and who come from families having an income of less than Rs 1, 00,000/- annually, and are amongst the top five in the 12th Sr. Sec. Examination in school and get admission in recognized college are eligible. Preference is given to students getting into Professional/Technical Colleges that is, Medical, Engineering/Technology and Management.
The Scholarship scheme has been very successfully implemented with the formation of a permanent corpus. The original donation of $15,000 was made by Dr. Renu Virmani Finn, daughter of Mr. R. N. Virmani .In addition the other members of her family and friends have also made handsome donation, in all we have received a total of Rs. 50.96 lakhs so far as contribution up to 31-08-2013 which have been Invested in Govt. of India bonds and Banks. Out of interest received from the investment, the scholarship amount is given to the awardees. Our aim is to increase this corpus to Rs.1 crore to award more scholarships. Under the scheme, a student who is doing Engineering is getting Rs. 2,000/- per month and who is doing Chartered Accountants course is getting Rs. 1,000/- per month.
So far, there are 28 recipients selected on merit cum merit basis, have been benefited Majority of them after passing out their respective courses, they have established very well in life with an immense sense of gratitude to the success the Trust for its concrete help to them.

At present, we are paying scholarships to 09 students, 3 are doing C.A, 5 are doing Engineering and one is doing medical course. Details of current recipients are as under:-
1. Ramesh Joshi B. Tech Malout Instt. Of Magt., Muktsar(Pb)
The student is a pass out of Dhanpatmal Virmani Sr. Sec. School of 2009. After completing B.Tech, he aims to do M.Tech. He belongs to a lower income group family of six members. He has stated “I am getting R.N.Virmani scholarship since 2009 to complete my B.Tech degree. This scholarship is beneficial for my career making.”
2. Piyush Goel B.Tech Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha,
The Student is a pass out of 2010 of Dhanpatmal Virmani Sr. Sec. School .He has scored 91% marks and got first rank. After passing CET Entrance exam. he joined Ambedkar Institute of technology, under Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi. In addition to the scholarship of Rs 2000/- per month, he was also given one time help of Rs 25000, to take coaching for engineering entrance exam. He belongs to an extremely poor family.
3. Pragati Chaudhary B.A.M.S I.P. University, New Delhi.
She is a pass out of Dhanpatmal Virmani Sr. Sec. School of 2010. She got 13th rank in entrance exam of Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery of Guru Gobind Indraprastha University and she joined Ch. Braham Prakash Ayurvedic Charak Sansthan khera Debar Najafgarh Delhi. Her scholarship of Rs 2000/- per month has been a great help to her as her father income is only Rs. 7,000/-per month and her mother is a house wife.
4.Amit Sharma B.Tech GuruGobindSinghIndraprastha,
He is a pass out of Dhanpatmal Virmani Sr. Sec. School of 2009 scoring 70%. After passing CET entrance exam of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, he joined Amity School of Engineering & Technology for pursuing his B.Tech. Scholarship was awarded to him in October2011.His father is a farmer having income of Rs 70,000/- per annum and mother is a housewife. The scholarship has helped him a lot for continuing his studies.
5.Puneet Tomar B.Tech ,U.PTechinicalUniversity,Lucknow.(U.P)
He is a pass out of Dhanpatmal Virmani Sr. Sec. School of 2009, with first class marks in Science and in the same year, he joined Meerut Institute of Technology, Meerut (UP) to pursue B.Tech, Information Technology. His father income is Rs. 3600/- per month and mother is a house wife. The financial help given to him, the scholarship Rs. 2,000/- per month has been immense help to Puneet Tomer.
6. Amit Nailwal B. Tech (GuruGobindSinghIndraprastha,
He is a pass out of Dhanpatmal Virmani Sr. Sec. School of 2010 scoring 73% marks in PCM and 78% marks in PCB and obtained 5th rank in the class. He has cleared Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University exam. and has been admitted to B.Tech. of HMR Institute of Technology and Management. Till now he has been awarded scholarship of Rs 2000 per month .His father the only bread earner member of the family has Rs. 10,000/- per month income and his mother is a house wife. The financial help has helped Mr. Amit Nailwal a lot to achieve his goal.
7. Tarun kohli C.A New Delhi.
He passed out his Senior Secondary, Commerce group from Dhanpatmal Virmani Sr. Secondary School, Roop Nagar, Delhi-110007 in 2010, securing second rank in his class. He passed Chartered Accountants Entrance exam ( CPT) in July 2010 ,after that he passed his IPCC 1st group in August ,2011 and IPCC 2nd group in February ,2012 At present he is having article ship which is essential for his Chartered Accountants exam due in May,2015. He has been awarded a scholarship of Rs 1000/- per month under R.N. Virmani scholarship scheme.
His father income is Rs. 6,000/-per month and his mother is a house wife. The scholarship of Rs. 1,000/- per month has helped him a lot to pursue his studies.
8. Vijay Kumar C.A New Delhi
He passed his Senior Secondary, Commerce group from Dhanpatmal Virmani Sr. sec. school, Roop Nagar, Delhi-110007, in 2010, getting 82% mark and second rank in his class. He passed Chartered Accountants Entrance exam. (CPT), and after that he passed IPCC in May 2012. Now he is undergoing his article ship of 3 years. Also he has cleared 2nd year of B.Com., His final Chartered Accountants exam will be due in May, 2015. His article ship started from Sep, 2012.He has been awarded scholarship of Rs 1000 per month under R.N.Virmani scholarship Scheme. His brother income is only Rs 6000 per month. His mother is a house wife. The scholarship of Rs. 1000/- per month has helped him a lot to pursue his studies.
.9. Sahil Gupta CA New Delhi.
He is a pass out of Dhanpatmal Virmani Senior Secondary School of 2011, securing 85% in Commerce and getting 3rd rank in the class. He passed his Chartered Accountants Enterance Exams. in July,2011 , May, 2012 he cleared both of his groups of CA-IPCC and his final exams of Chartered Accountants is due in the May,2015. The scholarship of Rs. 1,000/- per month has been of immense help to him to pursue his studies. At present he is doing articles hip under Chandhiwala Virmani and Associates.
We have planned to award more scholarships this year. We would also like to have a larger network, so that we become a part of global charitable funding initiatives and plug in mainline organization that manages these initiatives across the world. We are looking for contributions we have received. For all this and are grateful for the support, we express our gratitude to our donors for making the change in Society happen. Even a small contribution it is extremely valuable for our society.
