R.N. Virmani Memorial Endowment under the title “Providing Scholarship for Graduate Studies in India (Project No. 1066)”.

The R.N. Virmani Scholarships have helped students from the disadvantaged section of society to become Doctors, Chartered Accountants, Engineers and Advocates. The students have been able to achieve the highest levels in their field.

“THE VIRMANI TRUST IS WORKING FOR A LIFE OF DIGNITY AND SELF RELIANCE FOR THE DISADVANTAGED”. The Virmani Trust is a non profit making organisation, managing two schools, Adult Literacy Centres and providing Scholarships to the needy meritorious students from Dhanpatmal Virmani Sr. Sec. School Class XII having an income of less than Rs.2,00,000/- ($ 3300) annually. Preference is given to students getting admission in Professional/Technical Colleges i.e. Medical, Engineering/Technology and Management Institutions.

Dr. Renu Virmani Finn, the daughter of Mr. R. N. Virmani, the founder member of the VIRMANI TRUST donated $ 15000. In addition the other members of her family and friends have also made handsome donations.

The Scholarship scheme has been very successfully implemented with the formation of a permanent corpus. We have received a total of Rs. 50.96 Lakhs ($84,334) as contribution up to 31-05-2014 which has been invested in Govt. of India Bonds and Banks. From the interest accruing from this corpus, the scholarship amount is given to the awardees. Our aim is to increase this corpus to Rs. 2 crores   ($ 3, 33,334) to enable us to award more scholarships.

Under the scheme scholarships are awarded as under:

Medical                                                                 Rs. 4000/- per month

Engineering/Management/Law                                Rs. 2500/- per month

Chartered Accountancy                                           Rs. 1500/- per month.

Our trust is registered under FCRA1976. The donations to the Trust are exempted under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act of India. For foreign currency Donation, our FCRA No. 231660415 with the Indian Overseas Bank, Roop Nagar, Delhi-110007 (Account No. is 18854).

Providing Scholarship for Graduate Study in India (1066).
The Dhanpatmal Virmani Education Trust & Management Society is a non-profit organization with a significant record in creating opportunities in education. We founded the R. N. Virmani Memorial Endowment in the year 2002-03, to award scholarships to Indian Nationals for graduate studies in all fields, irrespective of caste, creed or community. The main aim was to encourage and help meritorious and needy students from low income families to pursue higher studies in Colleges/Universities in India. Students passing out from Class XII from Dhanpatmal Virmani Sr. Sec. School and who come from a family having an income of less than Rs.1, 00000/- ($1,600) annually are eligible. They also have to be among the top five in the 12th Sr. Sec. Examination in school and have admission in a recognized college. Preference is given to students getting into Professional/Technical Colleges i.e. Medical, Engineering/Technology and Management Institutions.

So far, there are 28 recipients of the scholarship scheme and their detail is as under:-

Under the scheme, a student who is doing Engineering is getting Rs. 2,000/- per month and who is doing Chartered Accountancy is getting Rs. 1,000/- per month. Scholarship awardees after passing out are employed and some of them are getting attractive salaries.
