It is the end of the school year and we say Omedeto Gozaimasu (congratulations) to Ayaka and Ikumi who will be graduating on March 9th and to Fuka who will start her second year of school.
Kato-san, The President of the Sendai YMCA International Hotel and Pastry School, has sent us videos from Ayaka, Ikumi and Fuka who tell us of their future plans and dreams. We thank Kato-san for adding the English subtitles to the videos.
Video from Ayaka – graduating patissiere student from Ishinomaki who lost her mother in the tsunami and now will go on to university to study psychology. She tells us ”I will study very hard as a university student to get my dream.”
Video from Ikumi – graduating patissiere student from Ishinomaki who will move to Kanagawa to start her new job tells us: “I am sad to graduate school. Even so I am going ahead to my dream.”
Video from Fuka - first year hotel student from Watari who will start her second year of training explains: “My dream is to work in the bridal business…I will study and work much harder than before to get a job. Thanks to you, I can study what I want like this.”
Kato-san tells us the school is undergoing renovations and that they expect to have two new Taylor scholarship students for the upcoming school year. We look forward to introducing them in our next report.
Thank you for the support you have given these students. It is your help which makes it possible for them to pursue their chosen careers!
