Kato-san, The President of the Sendai YMCA International Hotel and Pastry School, shares a message from six Taylor Scholarship students from late March who speak of their experiences as their school year begins.
This year we have 20 students receiving the Taylor Scholarship to be used in both the Hotel and Confectionary studies. The addition of international students to the school help the local students supported by the scholarships to learn English and other languages and cultures from their peers.
Many of the students need scholarships to attend the Sendai YMCA International Hotel and Pastry School because of economic hardships, some caused by the 2011 Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, and lately because of the pandemic they lost the chance to work after school. The Sendai YMCA and TAMF provide these scholarships jointly.
Thank you for the support you have given these students. It is your help which makes it possible for them to pursue their chosen careers.
