Because of the coronavirus pandemic, schools in Nigeria have been closed since April. Our scholarship recipients have been quarantined in their villages throughout Nigeria. We continue to monitor their physical and mental well-being.
The girls have no access to smartphones, computers, school lessons, or reading materials. They don’t even have paper books to read. We therefore have donated tablets to our scholarship girls and hundreds of other students to help them continue reading and learning during their quarantine. We have partnered with Worldreader to preload those tablets with hundreds of West African books. We are also donating tablets and Worldreader apps to our partner schools in Ibadan, Enugu, Abuja and Jos.
