Our scholarship girls continue to do well. The tablets and Worldreader e-reader program we established for them enhances their at-home learning and reading comprehension while providing a platform for additional learning at school.
The scholars attend Brightland Academy in southeast Nigeria, Foundations Academy in northern Nigeria, Anglican Girls Grammer School and Lightway Academy in the capital of Abuja, and Fruitful Vines in southwest Nigeria.
Last summer, we held our first Leadership Scholarship Summit in Enugu, Nigeria. Led by GEANCO board members and Program Directors Ebele & Nche Onyema, as well as Anuli Ikechukwu, Obinna Okoye and Afam Onyema, 29 of our scholars girls experienced inspiring, informative, and innovative workshops, interactive learning session, team-building exercises, and arts & sports activities. All of our scholars came away feeling like leaders and ready to grow into their best selves.
Last November, renown author Gregg Hurwitz donated a number of his novels and comics to Brightland Academy. Gregg and the International Thriller Writers are currently raising funds to build a world-class library for Brightland: https://www.flipcause.com/secure/cause_pdetails/MTcyNDky
