Project Report | Jul 16, 2026
2026 Academic Year

By Timor Karimy | Founder & President

Thank you for your generous gifts to Scholarships for At-risk Youth in Afghanistan.

Through this project, we support boys to continue their elementary to high school education in the marginalzied and perseucted Hazara communities in Afghanistan.

The academic year started in March this year, and we invited our schools to enroll the 39 boys from the previous year. In light of fundraising challenges and diminished interest towards Afghanistan, we review our academic programs annually to determine continued funding only towards the most impactful programs. We recieve new creative ideas from our educators on the ground that need to be accomodated. At times, we have to make the difficult decision of replacing some of the existing programs with new ones. For example, we created a new underground school for girls that enrolls girls from grades 7 - grade 10 in a new province.

Boys education remains of signficant importance. We will continue to do what we can within our limited reach to sustain this program.

Thank you,

Timor + the Bamyan Foundation team
