Keep Impoverished Refugees in School in Uganda

We are going to school because of you!

We applaud you to pay school fees for our kids in exile.

South Sudan needs future professional generations to defeat Tribalism to promote peace, coexistence, and embark on a sustainable development. No education! - No peace!

At this first reporting in 2017:
Your money and funding from Trolltech Foundation we will continue to pay fees for 20 children already in our program from 2016. Two new girls have been included in the program.

Due to current civil conflict, countless children fled from South Sudan war to live in an outskirt of Kampala as refugees. Most are not in school because it cost money to access primary education in Uganda. They had applied for support. But limited funding HopeOfiriha unable to help all of them.

In a second quarter, HO posts a new field update report to inform you about the influence of your contribution how it is positively transforming a life of poor refugee children.

Growing instability triggers new displacement
Fighting between armed groups has driven thousands of people from their villages in Eastern, Central, and Western Equatoria states since the start of January. Several thousand had taken refuge in Uganda.The Relief Agencies are increasingly concerned at recent growing uncertainty around South Sudan and its serious impact on the civilian population.

UNHCR alerted that localized fighting between rebel armed groups and government soldiers and an apparent breakdown in law and order are being reported in and near Yambio, some 300 kilometers west of Juba.

Sporadic gunfire is commonplace, and there has also been an increase in crime involving car-jackings, attacks on government property, looting of civilian homes and sexual assaults,"

Poverty Is Prevalent Among Refugees In Uganda

I am waiting for someone to pay my school fees!

We appreciate you for sponsoring refugee kids in exile.

At third quarter of this reporting:

Your cash pays the school fees for three refugee children in Gulu. With money from Trolltech Foundation, HO continues to pay school fees of 4 children in nursery school, two students to vocational institute, and 14 pupils in primary education.

But we need your help to send 300 children to school in Uganda. Most of them just fled from South Sudan war to live in exile.

Poverty is prevalent amongst South Sudanese families in exile, and children become orphans due to WAR. By sponsoring a refugee child, you will help HO gives unlucky kid care and education. HO is a vetted charity when it comes to providing help. We believe that the only way to destroy poverty is through education and teaching the next generation how to fight corruption and build a peaceful country.

We are asking you to give a monthly donation of $30 to send a child to a boarding school in northern Uganda.

In a next three months, HO will be posting a new field update, to report to you the progress of this cause, and how your gift is positively impacting on the lives of the refugees in need.

It was the bodyguards for rebel leader and presidential guards who fought each other in earlier July sparking days of violence which killed many hundreds of soldiers and civilians. The two forces had battled each other, almost five years to the day South Sudan declared independence from Sudan. Following the orders from the leadership on both sides, the clashes ceased temporarily in late in July. The rebels then moved their based outside Juba in an attempt to save peace which both parties signed.

In August fighting was in the outskirt of Juba in which the oppositions accused the government of attacking their positions. The rebels regrouped and fled to Congo with Riek Machar, their leader. Over the last few months, the citizens have expressed dissent against the government, as a result of this, the rebellion is growing rapidly in Equatoria states, a region which kept itself neutral for two years’ civil conflict in Upper Nile State. 61 other tribes are targeting ethnic Dinka. The humanitarian needs are going to be very great after this, Director General for RRC, told reporters. They are going to need food, shelter, water, he said, adding that the need for shelter and clean water was pressing for those living in a Displaced facility within Juba town.

War-torn South Sudan is suffering a rise in hate speech and incitement to violence against certain ethnic groups which could result in mass atrocities if the government does not act, the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights said Tuesday.

Animosity between South Sudan’s Dinka ethnic group and the people of its southwestern Equatoria region surged earlier this month when buses on roads south of the capital Juba were attacked as they passed through Equatoria region

No education - No peace in South Sudan.

Hundreds of workers and citizens took to the streets in Wau, South Sudan second largest on Friday to protest against the increased of cost of living, and salary in arrears as the leaders warned the country’s economic woes were reaching a crisis point.Clink here for more

Protesters in Wau city, west east of Juba, demonstrated over raising prices of goods and services, and salary in arrears which they said were not matched by current wage structures.

A yawning public sector deficit, a falling local currency and high inflation have heaped pressure on South Sudan, which before independence was seen as a promising emerging economy in East Africa.

We are grateful for your continued support to sponsor South Sudanese children in Uganda project.

At this second quarter of field update reporting:
With your money you gave through GlobalGivng, you paid school fees for three children attending primary school in Gulu northern Uganda.

With funding from Trolltech Foundation, 20 children had been sponsored. Four children go to nursery school, two students to vocational institute, and 14 pupils attend various primary school in Uganda.

Due to current political tension in Juba, and around the country many children had crossed the border into Uganda looking for safety and education. However, with insufficient fund Hope Ofiriha cannot send the new influx of refugee kids to school. We need your help to send them to school! Without your support, they will stay ignorant with no hope for a better future.

In a next third quarter, HO will be posting a new field update reporting on the progress, and how your donation is positively impacting on the lives of the needy.
